Abby

Here's Abby!
We rescued Abby from a local organization that rescues dogs from shelters that have poor practices and treatment (and that's putting it nicely). She is a very sweet dog that loves humans and wants to be with us all the time. We are fostering her right now and will adopt her in a few weeks. She has pretty serious separation anxiety and that will be our biggest hurdle. Right now we cannot really leave her alone (I can't blame her though as I can only image what she has been through). I haven't taken many pictures yet, but here are a few of her first few hours with us.

Birthday Boy=Moving

What is it with Justin's Birthday and us moving???
Two years ago Justin and I moved into our apartment in Boston, MA on his birthday and this June we were also moving into our new home here in California.
Justin is a really good sport though and even with working and moving we
had a great time celebrating his birthday. My Mom bought him a Birthday Boy pin
that he kindly wore in the evening and a few friends came over for cake to celebrate
his 27th birthday(they were a surprise).
Mix friends, family, cake, and a favorite hobby-related gift and you've got one happy birthday boy (oh wait, and a new home)!

Birthday cards on our new mantel! I am very excited to have a mantel.
Meredith and Darcy brought over champagne to toast to the birthday boy. Cheers Sweetie!

So cute!

Sophie was even socializing (shocking...)

Drum roll...and here's the best husband in the world enjoying some cake in our new kitchen.
I love you sweetie and for the next several years we know we will not be
moving on your birthday-yeah yeah!

Home Sweet Home

We are officially moved in (okay, I'll be honest...there are still a few boxes) and have been sleeping in our new home for a few nights. We painted three rooms: the living room, kitchen/dining, and the master bedroom. Our home was built in 1967 so it still has a few older features, and yet it is in great move-in condition. Our work will be a slow progress and we will be saving for added furniture and small improvement projects (aw shucks...I guess we get to go shopping :) First item on the list...dining room table-I don't think our little 2 person bistro table will work any more, not to mention it looks quite silly in the large dining area. I don't have great pictures yet, as we have been super busy and who likes pictures of empty rooms??
Painting Day...I did a lot of trim prep,
while my Mom, Justin, and Jim (a good friend of the family)
did most of the painting. We also had help from a professional painter...
long story, but he saved the day!

Gotta have fun while you work right? Okay you two...get back to work.

Here is my handy hubby steam cleaning the carpets.
The carpets appeared in really good condition, so we chose
the less expensive option and rented a machine.

My mom is a life saver! She helped for three long days in a row,
all while trying to run her business. She is an excellent kitchen organizer
and I am so thankful for her visionary skills and hard work. She makes moving in less stressful
and a whole lot more fun.

I don't have any pictures of Murray, mainly because any time he was lifting, I was lifting, but I want to give a big Thank You shout out to him for his help on our many loads back and forth.

I Feel Old, But In A Really Good Way!

Justin and I are officially homeowners!! Can you believe it?? I think it is still sinking in, however I am really excited to move in and get things rolling! I don't have any pictures yet, but I should by Thursday (we still need to get the keys)! I could post the link to the Internet pictures, but that wouldn't be as fun so y'all are just going to have to be patient. The home is in Rincon Valley in Santa Rosa, CA. We have a nice big back yard and I will now be within walking distance of both my school and the gym...let's just hope I actually walk :)

Also some fun news...
we already have a dog on hold for us (I know, I know, it's a little fast).
Justin and I are rescuing a dog from
She is a little over a year old and a super sweet mix. If you saw her you might think she is a little bit golden retriever, a little bit yellow lab, and little bit of something else. For those of you who have been in public with me when I see a dog, you know how long I have waited for this moment and how much I love dogs...I would rescue them all if I could! I am posting a link to her-it is a small picture, but you can get an idea!
Look back soon for pics!

Two Fabulous Years of Marriage!

My hubby and I have been married for two years today! Part of me can't believe it has been two years since our wedding day, and yet these two years have flown by. Justin brought home some beautiful orange flowers and reminded me in a hilarious card how many months, days, weeks, minutes, and seconds we have been married.
Such a sweetie and so creative!!
I love you Justin and I have enjoyed every moment of being married to you.
Thank you for being a wonderful husband!

P.S. He is snoring away next to me at the moment...he was up at 3:00 a.m. to go to work-yikes.

Welcome Back

Hello again,
Would you believe me if I told you I am going to start posting on our blog again??
No really, I am, and I already did...check below!
For a year now I have not been posting and I miss it!
Below are just some of my favorite pictures of our past.
Thanks for stopping by and please check back frequently,
as I will be updating it regularly.
I promise!

Go Giants

Sadly, I did not have my camera with me as the Giants clobbered Oakland 7-1 in a fabulous game on Sunday! It feels like forever since I have been to a Giants game, so the moment I walked into the park I was reminded of what fun it is to sit back and relax with family in the San Francisco sun and watch a fun team play in an amazing stadium. We enjoyed Garlic Fries, Hot Dogs, Chacha Bowls, and of course Red Vines with each other.

My Mom surprised Murray with these Giants Tickets as an early Father's Day gift and the four of us had a great day together (my hubby was off...what a treat)! Thanks so much Mamasita for the wonderful day and tickets (you looked so cute in your Giants tank and Murray in his Giants shirt...shucks no pictures).

Red Lodge Trip

The day after I checked out of my classroom Justin and I went to Red Lodge, MT to visit with his family. His sister and Kasten (our nephew) drove out from Sandpoint, ID to hang out as well. The weather was cloudy and rainy, so we did not get in the hiking that we wanted to, but we had fun laying low and enjoying each other's company. When the weather cleared up we would go on a walk or go up to the barn and check out their horse, Newt and the chickens they are raising (mmm...what fresh eggs they will have soon). I certainly enjoyed the downtime and good laughs as a start to my summer and Justin loved being with his family (his Dad and he could putz around that farm forever I think :)

This is a baby colt just 2.5 days old. Rick and Angie's neighbor let us come down and visit with the baby horse. He was so adorable!

Kasten loves his Winsten (the cat). Every minute he could, he would spend with the cat, but I'm not so sure the cat felt the same way. Let's just say it's a mircale he is alive after 6 days of a 3 year old and the fact that he is 18 years old!

Good time had by all, not to mention the great food!
Ya'll should check out the following cookbook (healthy and amazing recipes):
