Red Lodge Part 5

Can you say Pig Races???
That's right folks, Pigs, that people actually pay money to bet on, and then watch run around a 5 second circle for a treat of pig-like food at the end (you actually thought I knew what pigs like as a treat-ha! NO).  It's quite comical, yet entertaining, and here's the kicker...I've seen them twice. I'm their biggest fan!

After our day on the lake we stopped at a local and tourist hot spot for some quick grub and pig races (duh)! The next day we headed out for a beautiful day hike up what is known as the East Rosebud. It has spectacular views, waterfalls, friendly folks, and mountain fresh air. Noah did very well in the hiking backpack with only a few spurts of "I'm over this guys..." We had a nice hike that wiped out the kiddos just enough for us to catch a few zzzz's on the way home. The night ended with a pizza dinner.  Funny story about that is...when we went to pick up the pizza (Opa and I went), we ran into a gal from Justin's high school that he knows. She had a major crush on him and even a few years ago told Rick (aka Opa) to have Justin give her a call ;). When she heard he was married she was super bummed. I'm sure it just sealed the deal when she got to meet me! Haha! No really, she was a very sweet girl.

Here come the pictures...

Super excited about those pig races!

Oma and her first grandchild :)

Eating and playing with Opa-fun fun :)

Snuggle snuggle

Love love love this picture...just wish the background was different.

Jeremy and Phoebe getting ready to shoot the course again.

Target practice for Kasten

This is funny-you may have to enlarge the picture to get the full affect. Kasten loves to collect bones with Opa and being the best Opa he is, he made a Kasten Museum of all the bones they have in their collection. He's like a real life label maker...keep looking...

See, real life label maker! The course is called Pheobe Park (remember the boys have brides) and the "runway" he made for his RC airplanes is called Kastoahbe Field. It's a new word folks. It's the first part of Kasten, most of Noah, and the end of Phoebe, all put together to name his "runway"

Here the boys are on the runway...notice that I took it out of "". It's looks pretty real-super cool and super geeky. I think I just called my father-in-law geeky-oops :(

See, GEEKY...he ordered this sign and it lives at the edge of his property along the road for all to see. Nichole took some shots of the boys flying over the sign for the full effect.

Hobbies hobbies hobbies. Anyone know how many Justin has?? Compared to me??? Gheesh!

Here comes the hike!

I think I have 2 more parts of our trip to post...Some sweet shots of the Grimm family and our lovely airplane ride home (just writing it is making me cringe). Adios for now!

My Boys

There is so much I want to blog about these days, but for right now I want to pause and think about my sweet little boy and his daddy!  I can't even put into words (well enough for you to really get that is...) how much I adore watching them love on each other, hang out, and bond as he gets older.  Noah follows Justin around the back yard as they take care of the chickens together, water and weed the garden, and pick our fresh garden produce like tomatoes and strawberries.  Noah enjoys picking the tomatoes, but doesn't eat them much-he just carries them around-haha! The strawberries are another story-we have to cut him off!!

When I'm at work they have a a great day together going to the park, grocery shopping, wrestling, and much much more! In fact as we are in a new phase of transitioning to 1 nap (yuck) he slept for 2.25 hours on daddy's watch. Today with me, not so much! Bah!

Justin has a blast dancing with Noah, reading him stories, playing Lego's with him, and being outside in the garden.  As Noah gets older he likes his daddy time and associates him with a F-U-N time (as he should of course)! In another year I can't even imagine what Noah will be asking for!!

Look at those two!

Noah had so much fun doing this on and off all afternoon to Justin...not me, just Daddy :)

The Lake (Red Lodge Part 4)

While Noah and Pheobe stayed home with Opa we went out on the lake for the day. I LOVE being out on the lake and hope to have a boat one day...I'm slowly convincing Justin! Nichole and Jeremy were so kind to tow their boat all the way out to Red Lodge for our day of fun!

It was a full day of relaxing in the sun and hanging out with family. The setting was beautiful! I felt like I was at the bottom of the Grand Canyon floating on water. Nichole, Jeremy and I wake boarded, and Justin and his mom gave it a good effort. Justin has never done any water sports, so it was hard for him to get a feel how you get up. I was shocked that I got up on my first try, as it's been a long time since I was last on a wake board. We gave him plenty of a hard time the day of, so I won't embarrass him here :)

Kasten loves the boat and he just chilled with us all day. He also had fun in the water swimming and tubing. He likes to tube in "neutral" as he's a little fearful of the fast moving boat towing him-can't blame the little guy. I bet the boat feels so far away.

Here's our day of fun in pictures!

Nichole was our photographer for most of the day :)

For those of you who have tried to get Justin to smile for a photo will get a kick out of this picture. He thinks he's so funny doing goofy poses when all we want is a good picture-gheesh man!

Mother-Daughter

Cheers to a fun, relaxing day!

Our view

Oh to relax in the sun with nothing else to worry about-not even a phone. Bliss.

Our nephew and I chatting together. He's going into 1st grade so I could totally relate to him :)
I miss that age even though 3rd grade has its perks.

Having some fun!

Look at that cutie pie being our responsible flag boy

Angie and I :)

Another view

Haha!

Look at that sky!

Oma and her first grandchild.

Now, these next pictures are grown adults having some good old fashioned corny fun! We jumped of the deck for the camera and gave some extra dramatics just for kicks!

Sunbathing :)

Does it get much better! I mean really.

Can you believe there's more?!?!  I'll post more soon :)

Singing

The other day we were driving and we noticed Noah not just talking to himself, but singing!!! It was so stinkin' cute! He was singing "E-I-E-I-O" aka Old MacDonald. He kept singing it over and over again. After we just listened for a while smiling to ourselves, we starting singing with him. I took a video of Justin singing with Noah.

Noah does his part so well!! So does Justin :)
