A Tribute to Ash!

Justin's parents are visiting Sandpoint, ID right now and with them came Ash-the best dog ever! From the moment I met her she wowed me with her electric personality and lovable attitude towards everyone! She is by far the neatest dog I have ever come across, and yesterday she decided that her time here on earth was well spent and took a peaceful (for the most part) journey to doggy heaven! She had been coughing a lot and it got increasingly worse as the day went on. Last night she lay her head down and a few minutes later she was gone. Ash was the most loyal dog to Angie, whom I would call her favorite human, and loved roaming the family land out in Red Lodge. Below are a few pictures in memory of an awesome dog who lived a great life!

This was a picture taken on our road trip out to Cali! She has her winter coat on and if you click to enlarge it you can see her tongue!

This is how I often remember Ash...running up to your feet and nestling herself in between your legs for pets!

Justin and I went on a hike a year or so ago and took Ash with us! "Justin, please throw the stick, please.....??

"Yes, he threw it!" Ash always loved playing fetch and being outdoors.
This is a picture of the two of them on the hike! Ash has her summer coat to keep her cool!
We will all miss you Ashie!

I have my kitty back!

I love having an animal again and even though Little Miss Sophie can be a little spastic sometimes, I still love her! She sure does love Justin and usually sleeps near him vs. me! She is adjusting to her new home as a single kitty! She loves treats, but is not a fan of going out on the balcony. FYI: We forked out the dough and bought one of those high tech brushes for shedding and WOW do they work! It pulls off sooooo much hair and is really helping the amount of hair we have in the house!

Beautiful Saturday Hike

On Saturday we hiked around the Sugarloaf State Park located in Sonoma County. We chose the path less traveled and boy did it give us a workout! We enjoyed being outdoors in the abundant sunshine and getting some good exercise. It was a very shady trail at times, so some of the pictures do have shadows! Next time we are going to make a day of it and bring a lunch, etc. to have a nice picnic!

Pictures from our Road Trip 1

Snowy South Dakota
All the trees contained Hoar Ice which is so pretty to look at! You can't really tell in the pictures because we were driving, but it was pretty neat.
We stopped in Red Lodge for our third night and spent the next day with his parents.
Justin's parents recently acquired two horses, Woodrow and Augustus, and it was so much fun hanging out with them on the crisp clear morning as we took a break from driving. It had been a long time since I was on a horse and I loved it. These two dudes are not really riding horses, but mainly driving horses, as you might be able to tell because they are HUGE. It was difficult to stradle them, but very doable.
They were so much fun and so pretty-boy oh boy do they love their treats!

Pictures from our Road Trip 2

On the road leaving Montana-there were parts that resembled a frozen lake...yikes!
This was taken while I was driving so it is not the greatest, but the evergreens were so beautiful.
Upon arrival in California we were greeted by Christmas Kitty Hailey! Justin bugged her with this bell and ribbon all day! She didn't mind too much though!
We enjoyed spending time with family and friends while staying with my parents for our first week here! They had the fridge stocked with some of our favorite things and made our stay so very enjoyable!! Thanks a million!

Our New Home

Justin and I are loving the space we have in our new Petaluma home. We are getting to know our new town and the opportunities surrounding us! Gathering with family and friends has been so much fun and we even have things booked on the calendar well into the year (that's how excited we are...hehe)! Justin is finishing up ground school with KaiserAir and has already been taxing around the executive terminal at Oakland International Airport. This week he will be training in the air-the best part!!!! With Kaiser all the training in done within their company (which is pretty rare), so Justin actually trains in the plane (also very rare). He will be starting in the Citation 2 and 5, will then advance to the Hawker, followed by the Gulfstream! I am in the process of registering in the County of Sonoma to substitute teach, and should be subbing by next week! I am reallly excited to visit Sequoia and tell the staff of our return to the area and my ability to sub for them! We hope you are all enjoying 2008 and I am happy to be back in blog mode!!

We love the space in our kitchen!!! Although you can't really tell we have a ton of cupboard space!
The walls are kind of bare because we won't be here that long and don't really feel like hanging all of our pictures, but this is our living room area!
Our bathroom is nice and spacious (Justin and I have our own baskets on the counter)...and I mean spacious...you could do backflips in it...no problem!! In our large bathroom is also our washer and dryer!

We are officially here in Sonoma County and will be moving our belongings into our new home tomorrow, January 9th. Justin is working hard studying the new planes he will be flying and is hoping to be flying on a line by February. We will be living in Petaluma, which is about 30 minutes south of where my parents live. It has been so nice to be back here in Cali and we are looking forward to searching for a home to buy in late 2008! We hope you are all having a great start to the New Year and thanks for taking the time to view our blog! If for some reason you did not get the email I sent out with our new address, feel free to email me at jmlanglois6@gmail.com and I will email you back with it!
