It's Almost Halloween

Here is a picture to brighten your day (or night) of our little crawler in his pumpkin jammer jammers!!! I just love him in his pj's. All I want to do is snuggle him, and all he wants to do is move and groove ;). I'm already thinking about how we will do Christmas jammies...

Watching The World Go By

As Noah and I sat outside today I had a vivid flashback to a fond memory of my grandma. My Grandma Emma was an amazing women and I miss her very, very much. She would have LOVED meeting Noah and it saddens my heart that he doesn't get to see her at our family gatherings. I will tell him stories of her one day about how much she loved our family gatherings...and food :). Okay, back to this memory before more tears come forth. My grandma and I used to "watch the world go by" as we sat on her front porch. It's one of my fondest memories I have of her when I was a child. So today, Noah and I watched the world go by as I told him about her and enjoyed remembering one of the most amazing women! He preferred to watch the world go by crawling of course. The boy doesn't just sit-EVER, he just
crawls all around. I look forward to many more moments with the
little mister of watching the world go by :)

Swim Lessons

I had waited for this day since before Noah was born. I even bought a bathing suite while I was pregnant, maybe even two ;). I'm not so sure why, maybe it's because Justin and I love the water so much! At our local YMCA they let you begin swim lessons at 6 months, so of course, I called before he was 6 months so I could join the closest session to his half birthday!!!! We are having so much fun. He is a champ when he goes under water and he already has "kicking" down. Shocker...I know...No, not my active one-ha! Here are some pictures Justin took at our first swim lesson. Next on our list is My Gym. I'm so excited that he has reached the age of classes such as these.

In this picture the teacher had him and she "passed" him to me under the water. He goes under even more than it looks in the picture.

We practice going to the side of the pool for safety. It will be a really important skill for the future!

Jenna is a great kicker, or should I say slasher...haha! Noah found it quite entertaining.

I LOVE night 5!!!

Can you guess why I loved last night??? Let's back track...

Last night we entered Night 5 of our "sleep training" and things have been going well, SO, I took a walk on the wild side and stayed up after I put Noah to bed and watched an entire show!!! I felt like I had never done it before ;) It has been 6 + months since Justin and I have stayed up past putting Noah to bed. Since he has been waking up to eat at least once, and often more, we always wanted to maximize our sleep. Once again our son impressed us!!! He slept through the night...I mean not a peep, not a noise, I don't think he even moved. When I looked at him on the monitor this morning, because of course I thought for sure something was wrong since it was 7:30 (that's right!!!) and I hadn't heard a thing, he was still in the same position that we put him in last night! Oh sleep how I love thee!!! I feel like a new woman today. I know there will be bumps in the road (like teeth, etc.) but I am so proud of Noah's progress. Now all I have to do is train my body to sleep through the night...ha! Seriously...I wake up multiple times a night now, which is nothing like me (pre-baby that is...) so I hope my body can readjust!

I will leave you with some fun videos and I promise my future posts will not be as wordy and contain more pictures of the little mister :) Thanks for reading our "sleep training" updates.

Justin does this with Noah and it just melts my heart

Night 2 and 3

Because I have so many blog followers-ha, yeah right...I thought I would update 'y'all on sleep training. Night two wasn't bad. Noah didn't wake up until 3:00, but did cry a little longer (about 10 minutes). Then he went back to sleep for a little while but was on and off "fussy" from 4-5. He woke for the day at 6:30. The on and off fussiness was very strange. His head didn't even lift up, but every 5-10 minutes he let out a cry or too. So basically we did not sleep from 3:00 on except for a few dozes here and there :(

Last night was great! He woke around 11:00 and cried for just a few minutes and then woke again at 1:00 and cried for an even shorter time. He woke for the day at 7:00. He is definitely waking up very hungry and eating more during the day, which works out great! I have to say thank you to Jaime, Jared, and Jenna for our baby monitor because without it, this whole letting my itty bitty baby cry it out would be just plain awful. At least this way I can see what he is doing and get one last look at him once he is peaceful and asleep, that is, before I drift off to sleep!!

Don't call CPS...we went in and covered him with his blanket once has good and asleep!

Sleep Training

Dun, dun, dun...

It's that time folks. Noah is 6 1/2 months old and still waking up 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6....times a night. Okay, so that's a little dramatic, but we'll just say it's not usually 1. He is doing great with weight and food, so we feel good about dropping the nighttime feeding(s). Last night was our first night of letting him "cry it out" and he was a champ!!! Before hand of course I was a mess with anticipation and worry of how the night might go. I even shed a few tears as I was feeding him his last bottle and telling him about the plan (I know, silly, but what can I say...I'll just blame it on the Mom thing).
You want to know details?
Oh good!

He went to bed around 8:00 and woke up for the first time around 10:45, which was crazy early and so we let him cry. BUT, he only cried for 4 minutes (FOUR). I couldn't believe it. He was asleep before I could even get worked up. Then the little champion woke at 3:00 and barely cried-all of 30 seconds. 7:00 a.m. rolled around and he was up for the day. I am so proud of him and still in shock about it all. Tonight will be night two, and although I am realistic about how it might go (aka not as well as last night), I am also hopeful that Noah was just as ready for "sleep training" as we were. Below is a picture of our little sleeper right after waking up. I just love that smile, which now has 2 bottom teeth-so adorable. He is looking more and more like a little boy (I'm feeling bitter sweet about that one ;)

Fall is in the air...

Well, not really in temperature, but if you looked at my front porch and around the house you would most definitely think so :) Justin is very proud of our garden or as he calls it, The Langlois Family Farm. The pumpkins you see below are from our garden. AND, he already has next years seeds on order...be very scared...he's going for BIGGER and better next year. We hope you are enjoying the sounds, sights, smells, and FOOD of fall! I am off to plan some fun fall dinners :)

6 months old

Where oh where did the time go? Our little one is moving and grooving, sitting up, and developing just as he should for a 6 MONTH OLD! Yikes! Am I prepared for this?? This being an active little one, parenting that involves discipline, etc. I feel like these things are right around the corner. Well, I can't worry too much about that, but instead I can focus on how much fun this age is! Noah is so into the world (as if he wasn't already alert eh?). My favorite thing lately is watching him observe people in conversation. We saw some friends along the road the other night as we were going for a walk and as Justin was talking back and forth with them Noah was intently watching the person talking. His eyes would switch back and forth as he observed the person talking. It was so fun to see him that focused and into conversation. I had some fun the other day taking photos of Noah outside (his most favorite place in the world). He wasn't super smiley because he was very into the fact that he was SITTING UP outside. All he wanted to do was look around, but it was still very fun!

Here's a sneak peek at some pumpkin shots...his first reaction was funny. The pumpkin was very bumpy (and home grown) and he wasn't sure how he felt about that. In no time he had it in his mouth though :)
