Day Of Fun

This last weekend we had a day of fun with the Ives family. The kids had a blast, as did the parents :)

We had so much fun that Daddy decided he should wear Noah's hat.

This picture is kind of goofy, but it shows how into his tongue Noah is...silly goose.

The men tending to the BBQ (in Noah's hat of course)

Jenna has a play house that the kiddos have fun it. Noah loves to open and close the door, and Jenna just likes the door closed. Those two...more like siblings most days (in a good way)

Love that big girl face :)

Love me a laughing face!

Continued house fun!

Some after dinner tickles and such! Auntie is great at getting Noah to giggle.

Noah knows how to work it...getting a ride from Jenna in *her dolls* stroller.  It's an adorable purple stroller that Noah enjoys pushing around, and in fact, it matches...

The purple pi's he wore that night. Of course I had to forget something on this day of fun, and it was my little man's jammer jammers. He rocked some of Jenna's though. He looks pretty handsome in purple, wouldn't ya say?!?! It's so nice that both homes have pretty much everything each child needs now that they are both older.

Not a fabulous pic, but just a sweet shot of the Ives Clan in pre-bedtime mode. We were joking that Jenna was in blue jammies and Noah in purple.

After the kiddos went to bed Jaime and Jared humored us and played a fun game called Puerto Rico.  We love playing games together and they are good sports when we ask them to play one of our longer strategy-style games. We often play cards, but tonight after putting the babes to sleep at the same house we had fun with a longer game. I think Justin might get smart here pretty soon, because I think he's met his match. Jaime is good at playing games, and in fact, she won last night. I'm more the type to come in 2nd or 3rd... :( but I think Justin and Jaime will mostly be fighting for the Winning spot.

Thanks for the fun-filled, candy-eating, game-playing, BBQ-eating, outside-playing...day!

Noah Hearts Chickens

Noah loves the chickens. We let them out in the backyard so Noah can be close to them. The chickens love roaming and Noah loves "herding" them.  Some days I still can't believe we have chickens, but they are so fun!

A few fun videos

Here are a few videos of Noah in the last week. He's walking more and more, but not all the time. It's quite funny to watch because I feel like he starts out all excited to walk somewhere and about half way through he has this look of "forget this, crawling is way faster." He walks a lot when he is outside.

Parade BBQ

Noah went to his 2nd annual Parade BBQ at my parents house. Healdsburg has this adorable (for the most part ;) FFA/4H parade every year and my parents live on the parade route. Every year they have a huge party and everyone hangs out, eats, drinks, and watches the parade. It's a ton of fun and Noah loved every bit of it! I only took one picture and one video because he kept me pretty busy all night (Daddy was working). Below he is having fun with his friend Payton. Lately he has been into tickling people's feet, so I decided to get a picture of that instead of two adorable babies smiling perfectly at the camera...impossible people...especially this day. Doesn't Payton look adorable in her barrette?

Noah had so much fun watching the parade curbside. I thought the noises might bother him because they are LOUD at times, but they didn't even phase him. This kid of mine is strange I tell ya...a little bubble machine humming noise makes him freak out and NEED to get out of the bathtub, like yesterday, but loud parade noises are no problem. Sigh...I've given up trying to figure out children :) Anyhoo, once a group of dogs came close he wanted to walk and join in the parade with them. It was adorable! I caught part of it on video.

Unlike a sweet couple sitting near us curbside, believe me when I say...Noah doesn't usually get to walk around in the street. It was a parade people. VERY slow cars and people passing. I promise.
Adios for now!

Climbing

So Noah has shown a lot of interest in climbing lately, and I'm not so sure I'm a fan. I have to keep my eye on that little cutie even more now that he is always trying to climb new things.  It's fun to see him develop though, and the pride he gets when he accomplishes the climb is so sweet :)

Here he is climbing up onto the biggest outdoor chair we have (of course...:)

I was so surprised when he actually did it...excuse the shot here...hehee

Still trying to climb higher and oh so proud!

A few recent phone photos

Check out this attitude!  I caught him in a funny look, I promise, he doesn't have attitude...yet :)

Big Boy hair cut :) Mmmm...not so sure

Okay, I guess I like it!

Outdoor fun!

Playing with Jenna in her house, PJ style!

Silly Goose

Lately Noah has found it very funny to be silly. I love it! It's so fun laughing with him. He crinkles his nose when he is finding himself funny :) I call him Silly Goose.  My aunt calls me Goose, so I think that's where I get the term silly goose. When children are being silly, I call them Silly Goose.  Here Noah is being silly. There are many other times/situations, but most of them involve me, aka, no camera.

He has found his own toy...the inside of one of his toy boxes. He pushes it, knocks it over, plays in it...silly goose.

He loves wresting with his bean bag (sitting, not so much). The other day he drug it over himself and layer there giggling about it...silly goose.

Then...

Up he popped. Peek-a-boo! He thought he was SO funny...silly goose

Never Say Never

I know I have told more than one person this..."I can't ever imagine Noah doing that." "That" refers to Noah falling asleep in a random spot, like a bouncy seat, high chair, etc. Well I stand corrected.  Now, in my defense, he was very over tired and hadn't taken a nap. Just sayin'.

So the other day Noah decided that he didn't need any afternoon nap. He was content in his crib for 45 minutes and then I gave up. We headed outside to play and Noah wanted to go in our new swing.  Justin, his parents, and I were sitting around talking and pushing him when we noticed his eyes getting really droopy and his body was very still.  We lowered our voices and before I knew it he was asleep. He took a 15 minute power nap before the BBQ noises woke him up. He was very confused when he woke up-it was kinda funny :)

Point of the story: Never say never!

Chickens and The Garden

It feels like just yesterday we had these adorable little chicks living in our garage and now they're all grown up...hehee...there seems to be a theme at the Langlois house.

5 weeks ago they were just two days old and so fluffy and cute :)

Here they are a little bigger just beginning to get feathers (about 1 week old)

Now they are living outside and loving their new chicken run!

Sophie is very curious, but has yet to make a move. Give the chickens a few more weeks and she will be running from them.

Rick and J building the chicken run

It's garden time-yay! It's been so fun being out in the garden with Noah. We have pretty much everything planted and it's all looking good.  I'm very excited to use what we grow in our garden in my recipes. Last year at this time I was overwhelmed with being a new mommy and wasn't really able to enjoy the garden or cooking.

Squash, Zucchini, and tomatoes in our half barrels

More half barrels with herbs and beans

Look at those cute little tomato plants. Soon they will be taking over that area and we will have to make sure we harvest them in time (last year they got a little out of control).

Main garden bed with basil, cucumbers, more zucchini, and peppers (WAY less than last year...remember that picture-ha!) In case you don't here it is:

Wowzers :) We got ourselves, scratch that, Justin got himself under control this year :)

Sorry this picture is out of order, but I'm too lazy to fix it. It's a picture of our chicken coop. We used the side of our house so they have more space to roam and that way we (which really means Justin and his dad) did not have to create more of a fence line. Those boys work hard!!

Words, Words, Yay Words!

I wasn't sure when Noah would start trying to say real words.  It seemed as though his peers were reaching this milestone earlier than him...I know, I know, every child is different...blah blah blah :) No really, I do understand that, I was just really excited for it to occur. A few weeks ago we really noticed Noah trying to say a few words that we were saying. And now I feel like it happens all the time. Obviously many are not anything like the real word, but it's so darn cute. He has so many words he knows and it's fun to see him try and say the word.  In addition to speaking
more, he is up to all sorts of fun things.

At 13 months (wait, didn't he JUST turn 1...) here are a few of them:

Words he says (some more in his own way than others :): ball, hat (ha), bath (baf), hot (ho), go, book, wow, wee, peekaboo (k boo), kaboom (boom), and that's all I can think of right now.

He enjoys just listening to stories more and more (versus just turning pages and feeling things)

The more balls he can find the better!

He likes to build with blocks and add more to towers that we build (versus knocking them down)

He has a lego table that is super fun!!

He is really getting into driving cars, trucks, etc. around the house

He loves his newly introduced snack cup! He's getting really good with a spoon and eating from a plate.

He is a champion eater and will pretty much eat anything we put in front of him. Some of his favorites are: kidney beans, cheese, Kix cereal, Mommy's whole wheat blueberry pancakes, pasta, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, green beans, carrots, apples, and much more! His two favorites are: raspberries and zucchini

He loves using everything as a walker! He's not walking...don't even get me started on that...

He wants to be in my arms most hours of the day, and always when someone wants to hold him! I'm trying my best to enjoy this phase because I know he will not even want hugs from me in public one day.

He loves, loves, loves music and singing!

He enjoys learning what animals say. He knows what a Lion and a Cow says! We are working on chicken and kitty :)

Mentioned earlier, he loves all things outside: rocks, dirt, pools, pinwheels, exploring

He gets a kick out of carrying things around in his mouth.

He loves playing with my pots and pans and driving the lids around the house like a car.

He understands so much of what we say...I have to be careful about certain words or he will want to do it, like, NOW!! For example, outside and bath

Okay, I know there's more, but hopefully you feel a little caught up :) Sorry about beginning every line with "He." I'm feeling too lazy to re-do/come up with something else. It's off to bed for me! All this outdoor play is exhausting!!

Outdoor Fun Means No Inside Blogging

Hey there, sorry for the absence...we've been having way too much fun outside lately.  Justin's work is slow and the weather has been beautiful.  Come on over and check out our backyard for proof...it looks like 5 million children live here with all the outdoor toys we have :) You have seen the water table in a previous post, and now we also have many more pinwheels (did I mention Noah is OBSESSED with them), a small pool, digging/gardening tools, balls, trucks, a swing, etc.  Noah would live outside if we let him. Most days we eat lunch and dinner outside in addition to all the playing. I have completely given up on worrying about splinters from the deck, scrapes from the brick, grass "itchies" (yes, that's the technical term folks), dirt in the mouth, etc. Noah appears to be loving life and all of the above owie's mean nothing to him.  I do still worry about too much sun :( He is always in a hat and is loaded with sunscreen/SPF clothing. I guess I still view his skin as very fragile...as if he was a BABY-he's getting so big and acting less and less like a baby every day. I love it and at the same time, life seems to be flying by.  Ok, so I think I am officially rambling. I'll stop-it must be a side effect of not blogging.

This is what we have been up to outside:

Noah loves his new pool, especially getting in and out of it! Notice the pinwheel near the edge of it...Mamma moved it closer so he did not have to climb in and out to reach the pinwheel that he is OBSESSED with.

Oma and Opa are visiting and here Noah is helping put together the chicken coop.

Another day...another pool shot. I already have too many on my phone :)

Is it sad that I really wanted him to spray himself in the face with the hose once he picked it up...heheee! I was super impressed when he did pick it up because that thing is heavy.  The squirt mechanism is pretty tight, so it will probably be a while until he figures out how to squirt water out.

Here is the swing! He will swing in this forever and just chill! It's lovely and quite out of character for our little Noah.

We did some planting this week (stay tuned for photos of that) and Noah loved digging in the dirt with us.

It was so sweet...Noah saw Justin pushing the wheel barrel back and forth during the chicken coop building (more on that soon) and crawled back and forth after him to get a chance to push. He just watched for a while and then really wanted to try it himself. He gave it a good effort!

With all this outside business I think I want to invest (Ha!) in swim diapers and sunscreen :)
